WNYIMS is not an emergency dispatch service and cannot send help. If there is an immediate threat to life or property, call 911 and follow instructions from public authorities.

Independent platform disclaimer

WNYIMS is an independent, nongovernmental monitoring platform. It is not operated by or affiliated with any government, emergency-services agency, or public-safety dispatch center, and it does not issue official warnings or dispatch responders. Data may be delayed, incomplete, or unavailable. For emergencies or immediate threats to life or property, call 911 and follow instructions from public authorities.

For authorized users

These are authorized monitoring tools. Access to this information does not constitute authorization to respond. Do not self-deploy or interfere with emergency operations.

What the information means

  • Official alerts come directly from the National Weather Service and are reproduced as issued. WNYIMS does not author or modify them.
  • Publicly available incidents are preliminary. Categories are generalized, sensitive call types are suppressed, and locations are offset. An incident may be corrected or removed at any time.
  • WNYIMS Verified Field Reports were reviewed under the WNYIMS review process. They are not government, 911, fire, EMS or police records.
  • Absence of information is not safety. A quiet map does not mean conditions are clear.

Do not self-deploy

Do not travel to incident scenes, photograph responders at work, or interfere with emergency operations. WNYIMS does not currently operate response crews, and viewing operational information never authorizes anyone to respond.
