Free on-site WNYIMS demonstrations
WNYIMS agency demonstrations are conducted on site at the requesting agency's approved location and are provided completely free of charge.
What a demonstration covers
- A guided walkthrough of the live monitoring map, radar and official National Weather Service alerts.
- The Command Center view, including feed prioritization, alert tones and aviation awareness.
- Situation briefings, call-volume intelligence and the shift handoff record.
- How your agency's members are added, what each access level can see, and how records are audited.
- Questions from your command staff, communications personnel or general membership.
How scheduling works
- An authorized department administrator (Level 4) signs in and opens the scheduling page in the portal.
- They pick an available time, confirm the on-site location and provide a day-of contact.
- WNYIMS reviews the request and either confirms it or proposes an alternative time.
- Reminders go out before the visit, and either side may cancel within the published notice window.
Demonstrations are held at your approved facility in the 14-county coverage area. Travel time between visits is reserved automatically, so only genuinely available times are offered.
